TriceraTop Spin opened with Animal Kingdom in 1998 as part of the original DinoLand U.S.A. area. It's a hub-and-spoke spinner using the same basic design as Dumbo at Magic Kingdom — small vehicles attached to spokes that rotate around a central pivot. Each Triceratops can be raised and lowered with an internal lever. The ride is designed for the youngest guests at Animal Kingdom.
No height requirement — any guest can ride. Children under 7 must be accompanied by someone 14 or older.
You climb into a small Triceratops-shaped vehicle (each holds 2-3 riders). The hub begins rotating and your dinosaur lifts off the ground. A lever inside the vehicle controls altitude — push forward to rise, pull back to descend.
The ride lasts about 90 seconds. The whole experience is gentle, brief, and clearly aimed at toddlers and preschoolers.
TriceraTop Spin doesn't have Lightning Lane. None needed — capacity exceeds demand most days, and waits rarely exceed 15 minutes.
