Na'vi River Journey opened with Pandora – The World of Avatar in 2017, alongside the marquee Avatar Flight of Passage. The ride is a slow boat through bioluminescent jungles, ending at an encounter with the Na'vi Shaman of Songs — an audio-animatronic with face projection that ranks among Disney's most lifelike figures.
No height requirement — any guest can ride. Children under 7 must be accompanied by someone 14 or older.
You board a small canoe-style boat at the loading dock and float into the rainforest. The 5-minute journey takes you through scenes of glowing flora and fauna — every plant, vine, and creature is bioluminescent, washing the dark cave in shades of blue, purple, and green. The boat passes occasional encounters with Na'vi creatures (a viperwolf, a hammerhead titanothere) and floating jellyfish-like air plants.
The finale is the Shaman of Songs — a Na'vi figure that sings a song with full body and face animation. The animatronic is fluid enough that first-time riders sometimes mistake it for a live performer.
Na'vi River Journey is a Lightning Lane Multi Pass priority for families with young kids who can't ride Avatar Flight of Passage (44" height). For families who can do both, Flight of Passage takes precedence.
Standby waits run 35-70 minutes most days. The ride is brief (5 minutes) but the queue is slow because of low boat capacity.

First 60 minutes after rope drop. Pandora is one of the first areas to fill at Animal Kingdom; arriving at park open and walking directly to Na'vi River Journey often gets you on with under a 25-minute wait.
Mild, beautiful, brief. The Pandora environment is impressive without being overstimulating.

Look up. The cave ceiling is densely populated with bioluminescent plants. Most riders only look forward.
Visit Pandora at night. The exterior of the land is bioluminescent and uses real glowing-paint and projection effects after dark. Walking through Pandora at night is one of Animal Kingdom's best free experiences.
The Shaman is the highlight. Don't look at your phone in the final scene. The Shaman of Songs is one of Disney's most impressive animatronics — present for it.
